Arikai Tabeson – Scripps College, class of 2014

Arikai is a sophomore at Scripps College, who is interested in studying the Pitzer College major, Organizational Studies (looking at business organization, not how to organize your room :P ). Coming from a home in Oakland, CA surrounded by a a large garden with an overabundance of fruit, Arikai quickly became excited and interested in the work and future of this club/program. Besides taking classes at the Claremont Colleges and acting as a c0-coordinator of the Gleaning Hope Club, she is also a peer mentor to a group of 6 first years at Scripps College, a food coordinator for the Wanawake Weusi Clorg, and works at the Coop Fountain as an Assistant Manager. Inland Valley Hope – Volunteer Coordinator and Gleaning Hope Supervisor

Alicia Castro- University of La Verne, class of 2013

Alicia is currently attending a graduate school at the University of La Verne pursuing a masters program in Public Administration specializing in nonprofit organization and government. She works full-time for AmeriCorps-Volunteer Coordinator at Inland Valley Hope Partners. Inland Valley Hope Partners is a nonprofit organization who helps feed the hunger and shelter the homeless. Her job consists of giving peole an opportunity to volunteer and make a difference. She can match any person who wants to help with the right position. Alicia sees the importance of working with people because it helps bring many changes and impact people’s lives. Gleaning Hope is a great program who supports all 4 food pantries for IVHP. The four food pantries are located in Claremont, Ontario, Pomona, and San Dimas. Gleaning Hope is a simple program because donors donate their backyard fresh nutritious fruits to children and families who are in need.
